Meh. An interesting but ultimately forgettable read about possession and demons. People seem to be getting possessed all over the place and only the Reverand seems to be suspicious. Then he ropes Kyle into things, which is fortune cause only Kyle has the magic demon repellant touch. He can do this cause he's Outcast, but the problem is, we're never actually told what Outcast is, why it's relevant, or why Kyle is one of them.

It's like the story is there, but the foundational world-building stuff is missing. It makes it difficult to care about Kyle or his conflict or the general stakes of the novel when it's never actually explained why any of it matters.

The writing wasn't bad. The writing was totally fine, it was just lacking meaning in places. The artwork wasn't my favourite either. Not that the style was bad, and it certainly grew on me, it just wasn't my preferred style.

The ending was a little flat and underwhelming, and didn't really give me enough to want to read the next one.
