Another fascinating entry in the series. Tensions grow within the political world, and the apocalypse begins. It's the beginning of the end, baby. But not literally, of course, cause I still have six more volumes to read.
It definitely feels like things are slowly reaching a breaking point within this world. Leaders are losing control, nations are invading each other, Death is still searching for his son, and through it all, the remaining three Horsemen are trying to initiate the end of the world.
Loved Seeing Death and Lady Mao reunited again. I live for any amount of page time this husband and wife duo share. What a power couple they would be, if they actually spend any great length of time together. They'd be unstoppable. Lady Mao is already a formidable power-house, but with Death at her side, she'd rule the fucking world, and Death would be the first to bow at her feet. He adores her. I love how devoted he is to her.
This is an incredibly complex and intricate world, as proven by the added timelines, maps, and pages of data on each nation included in this volume. It was fascinating learning what sort of influence, finances, and military power each nation has compared to others.
Honestly? My money's on the PRA. Lady Mao has her shit together.
