This is Finan's book in many ways. I never realised how much I wanted Finan's backstory until I got it in this book.
It's no secret he's my favourite character after Uhtred himself, so learning about his past, and identity made this one of my favourite Uhtred books so far.
Warriors of the Storm had pretty much everything I wanted it to have. Battles, banter and shield walls -(is it even a viking book if somebody doesn't shout "shield wall"?)- as well as following up with the Stiorra and Sigtryggr storyline, which I loved in the last book. -(Sigtryggr is fast becoming a new favourite of mine.)-
But, bonus! We get all the Finan backstory to boot!
He was definitely the star of this installment and I'd love to see his past mentioned a little more in the next books and not left to fall by the wayside just because it's already been revealed.
These books have somewhat become comfort reads for me. I can always fall back on them for an easy compulsive read. They take no time st all to get through and they're damn good fun.
